I walk to the edge of my complex
move my hands over the perimeter
Woods stretch out right in front of me
Eyes staring back in memory

Cut the wire creating a perfect hole
Move beyond the fence of my sanity
Wandering, feeling as I go

There’s a light up ahead in a clearing
A bridge stretched over a cavity
Handrails carved in silver stone
Stories filled with gravity

The first steps are the most delicate
No sound but my own heavy breathing
Each breath makes a sound so resonant
